little saturday cancelled in favor of BIG SATURDAY March 26th
Dear YCN members!
On Wednesday March the 26th we have something very special in store for you.
As most of you will be well aware of, we organize a get-together called “Little Saturday” or “Lill-Lördag” the first Wednesday of every month. In March though, Heartland is closed for renovations, so Little Saturday is canceled. But this fits our plans perfectly.
Last year in March YCN and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce jointly arranged the first ever Big Saturday. It became a highly appreciated event at restaurant Africa in Daikanyama. We have been urged to make a “sequel”. This event replaces both the YCN Little Saturday and the SCCJ club evening.
We would like to offer you a unique chance to interact in the wider Swedish community in Japan crossing generations and backgrounds while enjoying finger foods, drinks and atmosphere of popular restaurant Fujimamas in Harajuku-Omotesando.
In short, we offer you the second (annual?) :

Why is it called Big Saturday, when the event is on a Wednesday, this is very confusing?
March 2nd, 2008 at 18:24
Hi Yamada!
We usually call Wednesdays “little Saturday” in Sweden (a reason to go out partying…). So, since there’s a “big” event on wednesday the 26th, it’s called “Big Wednesday” instead, still confusing?

Is there a dresscode? I do not know what to wear…
March 4th, 2008 at 21:56
Dear Tanakasan, and everybody else.
There is no particular dresscode. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. But I am sure many people will be wearing suits or dresses. The whole purpose of YCN when it started was that it should be an informal network for younger Swedish and Japanese. Not so much exchanging meishi and business. For suits and salarymen there is SCCJ the Swedish Chamber of Commerce. But every know and then, we like to do joint events together. So this time I hope you have a good time, enjoy and network.
